In
Christ Everyone is someone. Hospitality, as members of the
family of St. John of God, commits us to allow relationships
to become part of a healing process. Our acts of care and
compassion are healing.
St. John of God made everyone feel like someone because he worked through his
feelings of incompleteness. He healed and was a witness to hospitality because
he healed himself first and then created a community of mutual healing
When people feel down and out, paying attention especially with care and
compassion will touch people’s hurt, loneliness, pain, restoring new life. Just
being yourself and being there present, present when you are needed, changes
feelings of worthlessness into feelings of being someone.
One of the opportunities that we have as ministers of hospitality is to bring
hope, offering people a vision that things do get better; and that there is a
progressive journey that one takes from brokenness to wholeness.
