St. John of God Health Care Services has rendered alcohol
and drug recovery services to people of the High Desert since
1985 and is a non-profit agency sponsored by the Brothers
of St. John of God, whose mission is to restore the dignity
to those who suffer.
Our Vision
To be a resource collaboratively identifying local substance abuse needs and
promote sober living by delivering quality services and programs to the High
Desert Community.

Detox- Casa San Raphael

To
begin the recovery process and initial withdrawal, we offer
Casa San Raphael, a six bed social model detox unit for men
and women. This program is non-medical and has a duration
of three to seven days. Individuals maybe required to provide
a medical clearance. We provide individualized counseling,
recovery films, and AA/NA meetings. On completion of this
program individuals have an opportunity to enter our residential
program (depending on bed availability), our outpatient services,
and/or assistance with locating other recovery services.
HOW House, Alpha House

Licensed
ninety (90) day social model residential recovery programs
for adult men and women. Programs offers a broad range of
recovery tools using the 12-Step program. We provide educational
groups in anger management, domestic violence, relapse prevention,
parenting, assistance in job skills, as well as individualized
and group counseling, recreation and AA/NA meetings.
Alpha Tot House, Alpha Tot Day Care

Alpha
Tot House program offers a ninety (90) day residential treatment
to parents with children, 0-5. This unique program prevents
the separation of parents and their children while receiving
intensive recovery services; keeping the family as stable
as possible through the recovery process. In addition to regular
scheduled recovery classes, we emphasize parent/child bonding.
Alpha Tot Day Care is a licensed child care service provided
to children 0-5, residing with their parent while in Alpha
Tot House or Pampuri Manor. This program is designed to provide
professional child care to children who have been impacted
by exposure to substance abuse and is uniquely oriented toward
parents seeking family reunification in a sober environment.
Children are given a consistent and nurturing environment
as the family adapts to sobriety. We focus on parental bonding,
healthy living skills, nutrition, motor skills, speech development
and social interaction.
Outpatient and Recovery Services
Hospitality Center

A
licensed outpatient treatment center offering individualized
counseling sessions, educational groups, and AA/NA meetings,
al designed to reduce, assist and eliminate barriers that
often become challenging to individuals in recovery.
Community Recovery Center
A safe and sober environment for recovering individuals and their families.
Community Recovery Center offers a collaboration of resources to promote
and maintain sobriety, through classes, workshops, support groups, educational/vocational
assistance, social activities, coffee shop and resource library.
Elvira Gate Learning Center
Educational center to assist with reading and math literacy.
Transitional Living Programs
HOW House II, Pampuri Manor
Sober living environments during the early months of the
recovery transition. HOW House II is a six (6) month transitional
living for men.
Pampuri Manor is a transitional living program for adults
with children for up to 1(one) year.
Admission Requirements
- Willing desire to start the recovery process from alcohol
and/or drugs.
- Residential
treatment : Alcohol and/or drug free for 72 hours, prior
to admission.
- Detox: Actively using alcohol and/or drugs with in 24 hours, prior to
admission.
- Transitional Housing: Completion of an approved rehabilitation recovery
program.
